About YIA

Youth in Action is a group of motivated high school students at Robert Bateman High School who meet once a week to inspire change in the world! The members of the club work together to arrange creative and engaging fundraisers; the money from these events are later contributed to a charity. A different organization is chosen as the focus of every new school year. In the past, Youth in Action has raised money for NGO’s such as The Stephen Lewis Foundation, Sleeping Children Around the World, and Safetynet Children and Youth Charities (Oakville). Nearly $25,000 has been donated to charitable organizations to date! We hope to attain this level of success in the 2010-2011 year, as we focus our efforts toward Free the Children.
