Here is the recap for the meeting held on October 5!
The group discussed running senior auction, where senior students (gr12) volunteer to be bought for a day by students and staff to do odd jobs! The main focus of this weeks meeting was to start planning for the penny drive. Next week we start promotion. We plan on having penny jars in key areas around the school such as the bistro, library, corner store, etc. We also hope that each first period class will take part and have their own jar, this way, there is some fun competition! Prizes were delegated to be an Ice Cream Sundae Party for the first period class that donates the most amount! Classes will have pepsi/coke bottles that they will decorate and collect money in that. Next week posters and announcements will start going out about the penny drive! Make sure you help spread the word too
Secondly, the group divided into SUB GROUPS. Each exec member created their own group in which the Youth in Action members split up to work/help their area of expertise. The groups were as follows:

-secretarial committee (organizational-related initiatives and behind the scenes work!)
Jenny Li and Mishal Mansoor
-Fund raising committee, create/plan events
Farwa Naqi
-Money group! Handle funds, collect and count earnings, count money for penny drive
Krisin Lu and Sana Mumtaz
-Media and arts committee! Create posters, fliers, announcements, media related things

Finally the group started preparation for their Apples and Caramel Sale on Wednesday October 6th! Thank you to those who stayed back to help out!
